raid data recovery
A Redundant Array of Independent Disks, generally referred to as RAID, is a category of disk drives that utilizes 2(+) drives for the purpose of "fault toleration" (refers to the ability of a system to respond well to any kind of software or hardware problem) and performance. Whereas RAID disk drives are common throughout servers, they are seldom found within personal computers. RAID levels are as follows:
- Level 0: Although this level provides data striping it does not provide redundancy. This improves the performance of the drive, but it doesn't deliver any kind of fault tolerance.
- Level 1: This level provides disk mirroring; a tool with which data is written across two drives so that if 1 fails, the other remains as a backup.
- Level 3: This level is more or less the same as Level 0, with the one difference that it does provide a certain degree of fault tolerance.
- Level 5: This level provides users with data striping at the byte level, along with stripe error correction info. The result is superior performance and good fault tolerance.
So how can you recover lost files from a RAID server? There are a great number of professional computing companies who specialize in disk/data recovery. For the most part, these companies can restore lost data due to failures or accidental deletions no matter whether it was on a Network Attached Storage system, file server, Snap server, or large RAID system. For more information regarding the details of the procedure, you would need to contact a RAID recovery company.
